Personal Job Specification
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent, or substantial experience of working with women and girls, coordinating project-based initiatives related to the VAWG agenda.
Knowledge
A. Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting VAWG
B. Knowledge and awareness of safeguarding and supporting children and adults who have experienced domestic abuse
C. Knowledge of coaching techniques, values, and processes.
D. IT skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Programmes
Skills
A. Able to communicate effectively to a wide range of people, and present complex issues in plain language
B. A track record of commitment, and enthusiasm to work within the values of the ISN
C. The ability to work independently, initiate, and direct own work
D. The ability to work within organisational and professional boundaries
E. Able to build effective working relationships, and co-ordinating work with women at refuges and in the community and to be respectful of their needs
F. Flexibility and willingness to try things out and do things differently
G. Able to creatively use facilitation skills in a variety of settings
H. Project management skills including organisation, collaboration, and delivery of project plans
I. A proven commitment to continuous professional development relevant to the VAWG agenda and the ability to keep pace with current thinking and practice in the field of community development.
Experience
A. Experience of working at a grass roots level with local communities to empower them to make positive change
B. Experience of presenting and delivering training
C. Experience, understanding and commitment to coaching and coordinating women courses
D. Experience in delivering training
E. Experience of people management
F. Experience of producing reports and monitoring information for a variety of audiences, including funders.
G. A proven commitment to equality and diversity issues, including a clear understanding of the barriers to participation and inclusion, and evidence of addressing this in practice
